Third culture kids, one Hinge match, and a proposal on Butterfly Beach.
We met in September 2020 on Hinge, when Margaux lived in Tucson and Kaushik lived in Phoenix. We bonded instantly over being “third culture kids” — both of us grew up in a different country than where our families are from. Kaushik was born in India and raised in Dubai; Margaux was born in Turkey and moved to the US at seven.
We moved to California together in the summer of 2022, and in August 2025 Kaushik proposed on Butterfly Beach in Santa Barbara, with a ring we designed together with a jeweler friend of his in Dubai.
We have a chocolate lab mix named Chai and an orange cat named Cheddar, but we call him Juju. Things we both love: Sunday brunch, a really good cup of coffee, taking good selfies, watching movies, Manchester United, roadtripping in California, eating Indian food, and animals.
